Final Mixing Session of the Year

Well folks, by this last Tuesday we crossed out T’s and dotted our I’s on two more songs.  “Victory Gin” was completed on Sunday and we knocked out “Rust” on Tuesday night. The Tuesday session was kind of like pulling teeth as Steve was pretty damn cranky but, in his defense, he was already tired from earlier sessions, had a midnight recording session to look forward to, and he had to deal with two clowns obsessing over ten seconds of audio – myself and Charlie. “Why are you guys spending so much time on ten seconds of a Freak Out? It’s just noise!!!” But Charlie and I stuck to our guns on that and 30+ minutes later the final results came out pretty bad-ass if I do say so myself.

So now, for those of you keeping score, this is pretty good news because we now have all but two tracks mixed before our annual Christmas break.  Yeahyus!  So, in a couple of weeks we’ll return to the studio, knuckle down, and kick out the final mixes for “Space Chimp” and “Stonebringer” then it’s off to mastering!!!
