Well folks, it just isn’t a Linus record without at least one big huge glaring typo or omission. I think our most memorable error was when we left Carol’s photo credit off one album. That one was pretty bad but what’s funny there is Carol reviewed the liner notes herself and didn’t realize it until after they were printed. Yeah, we’re really that bad at copy editing. You think we’d learn but once again my bad typing skills are in full force on the liner notes for the new EP.
Now, I guess I should explain that I am one of those two-finger typists and so “ing” words often appear as “ign” and “ie” is another that gets flip-flopped. So, knowing this, I usually try to copy and paste words to avoid the left finger being faster than the right error when it comes to names. Of course that is only handy if what you are copying is correct.
Fast forward to this morning and while looking at a quote from the EP’s press release, I immediately cringe because I know my trick to compensate for my bad typing and what do I see but Kinky Friedman’s name with the “ie” as “ei” typo in the press release. I facepalm an “Oh Gawd, NO!” and immediately head over to the pile of covers sitting on my table. Sure enough there, printed on the cover, is the same typo!!!!” Yup, I typed Kinky’s name with the typo right there in the liner notes and nobody caught it so I am totally red-faced this morning.
So, I extend my humble apologies for the error.
