Yes folks, it’s a mere 4 weeks out from SXSW. That means it’s time to get serious and last Tuesday was our last chance to goof off, jam, and work on newer material before we hunker down to polish up the set.
We’ve been working on three songs for the last few weeks. Clinton has a new hard rock piece, Charlie has been polishing “Elven Queen” so we can play it live, and I have a new one that’s we’ve been working out as well. But those three barely scour the surface. Helk, I alone likely have at least a half an album worth of songs in varying stages of completion and Clinton’s “C is for Cthulhu” is one we’ve still got to work out. We’re hoping to have Stevie Sims of Burn The Boats sing the vocals on that. [Which reminds me! Tonight we’re going to see the Cthulhu Puppet Play tonight. Check it out!] But for SXSW we’re effectively going to have to put the brakes on all this new material to make sure we’re in fighting shape for the 15th of March.
